PÓVOA CASINO LITERARY PRIZE

The award was created in 2004, in partnership with Casino da Póvoa. It is awarded to first editions of books in Portuguese or Spanish. The ten finalists, annually alternating between prose and poetry, are analysed by an Iberian-African-American jury. More than 500 titles have been entered in the competition since 2014 and prizes of €120,000 were awarded to writers from the Iberian Peninsula, Africa and South America.

THE FUNDAÇÃO DR. LUÍS RAINHA PRIZE

Created in 2010, in partnership with a foundation of public interest, it gives awards to unpublished works dedicated to Póvoa de Varzim. The award-winning works are published and the author receives a cash reward.

2017 – “No Silêncio das Marés” by Helena Luísa Miranda Coentro, under the pseudonym Sibarua
2018 - The Jury decided not to award the prize due to the fact that the majority of the jurors considered that the works presented did not correspond "to the literary requirement for its award".
2019 – “Toda a Água que nos une” by Ana Paula Mateus under the pseudonym  Clara Monjardim

CORRENTES D'ESCRITAS PAPELARIA LOCUS LITERARY PRIZE

Created in 2005, in partnership with a local bookshop. The Prize is for poetry produced by young people aged 15 to 18 years. Around 500 works have been assessed since 2014. The prize guarantees the publication of the work and a cash prize of €1000.

CORRENTES D'ESCRITAS PORTO EDITORA ILLUSTRATED CHILDREN'S STORY PRIZE

Short stories written by primary school students have won awards at the Correntes d´Escritas Literary Festival since 2009. More than 600 works have been assessed since 2014 and prizes amounting to €10,500 in Porto Editora publications have been awarded, with the selected works published in books.
